Firmware Installation Guide -  GMiner Toolkit

A detailed step-by-step guide for installing GMiner ASIC firmware on your devices.

Step 1 - Download the GMiner Toolkit

Go to the official HashBoost website and download the GMiner Toolkit compatible with your operating system.

Supported: Windows (32/64 bit) and Linux Desktop (via Wine / PortProton)

💡 Server versions of Linux (CLI only) are not recommended for installation.

Step 2 - Launch the Toolkit

Open GMiner Toolkit v1.x on your computer.
On the main interface, you will see the following tabs:

  • Operations

  • Settings

  • New Group

  • Delete Groups

Step 3 - Create a New Group

Click “New Group.”
In the window that appears, enter:

  • Group name

  • IP address range of your ASIC devices (e.g. 192.168.1.1 — 192.168.1.255)

  • Access password (optional)

Then click Save.

📸 (It’s recommended to use smaller IP ranges for more accurate device detection.)

Step 4 — Configure Network Settings

Open the Settings tab:

  • Select Language: English / Russian

  • Choose Theme: Dark / Light

  • Set Number of network operations — 4 (recommended)

  • Set Device state update interval — 3–5 seconds

Click Save to apply the settings.

💡 For non-standard routers (TP-Link, D-Link, Keenetic, etc.), your network range may differ.
Adjust the IP range manually if needed (e.g. 192.168.0.1 or 192.168.1.1).

Step 5 — Detect ASIC Devices

The Toolkit will automatically scan your network range and display all detected ASICs in the Operations list.
If devices are not detected:

  • Make sure your ASIC has original BITMAIN firmware (not VNISH, LUXOR, etc.).

  • Double-check your IP range.

  • Run the Toolkit as Administrator (Windows).

Step 6 — Install GMiner Firmware

  1. Select one or more devices from the list.

  2. Click “Install Firmware.”

  3. Locate and upload the GMiner firmware file (.tar.gz).

  4. Confirm the installation and wait for completion.

After installation, the ASICs will automatically reboot.
Pool settings and credentials from your BITMAIN firmware will be imported automatically.
If you made manual changes earlier, verify the settings again after reboot.

Step 7 — Verify Installation

Once rebooted, open your ASIC’s web interface and check:

  • GMiner firmware version

  • Hashrate (TH/s)

  • Temperature

  • Fan speed

  • Pool connection status

If needed, perform auto-reboot or rollback to stock firmware (via System → Backup & Restore → Rollback to Stock Firmware).

✅ Important Notes & Safety

  • 🚫 Make sure your device runs BITMAIN stock firmware (before March 2024) before installation.
Newer BITMAIN builds (2024+) use modified NAND partitions that may cause installation errors.

  • ⚙️ Remove third-party firmware (VNISH, MSK, LuxOS, HiveOS) before installation — they can block Toolkit access.

  • 🧩 The installation is non-destructive — your original bootloader remains intact.

  • 🔒 The firmware includes built-in protection against overheating, voltage surges, and unsafe tuning profiles.

🕒 Installation Time:

The entire installation and setup process takes about 5–10 minutes.
