Performance (Tuning) (23/10/2025)
Frequency and voltage tuning panel
Includes auto-tuning mode for optimal hashrate, stability, and energy efficiency.
Tuning Modes
GMiner ASIC provides two tuning modes:
-
Automatic Mode — recommended for most users.
After selecting a profile (e.g., 103 TH/s), the system performs Initialization and then launches Auto-Tuning.
Auto-Tuning analyzes chip performance and automatically adjusts frequency and voltage for each chip to achieve the best balance between hashrate and power efficiency. -
Manual Mode — for advanced users.
You can manually set chip frequency (MHz) and voltage (V) using sliders.
Mining continues normally, but without automatic tuning.
Auto-Tuning Process
During Auto-Tuning:
-
The miner continues hashing — tuning runs in parallel with mining.
-
Each chip’s performance is evaluated and optimized individually.
-
The firmware detects slow or critical chips and adjusts them to stabilize hashrate.
-
Completed profiles are saved automatically and restored on reboot.
If tuning is interrupted or hardware conditions change (e.g., temperature or voltage fluctuation), Auto-Tuning may restart within 15–30 minutes.
You can delete or re-run tuning at any time.
Manual Frequency Tuning
In Manual Mode, users can fine-tune performance manually:
-
Adjust stable, slow, or critical chips separately.
-
Example:
-
+5 MHz for stable chips
-
–5 MHz for slow chips
-
–10 MHz for critical chips
-
This allows advanced control over heat and stability.
You can monitor changes and results in the Logs (PERF) section.
Per-Chip & Domain Tuning
Each board contains multiple chip domains (groups).
Manual tuning allows adjusting the frequency of a single chip or chip group.
For example, on Antminer S19j Pro, chips near the air exhaust tend to run hotter — reducing their frequency slightly can improve stability and reduce temperature.
Automatic Profile Switching by Temperature
The firmware can switch profiles automatically depending on chip temperature.
-
Automatic Mode:
-
Lowers performance at 5 °C below critical temperature
-
Restores higher profile at 10 °C below critical temperature
-
-
Manual Mode:
-
User sets custom min/max profiles and time intervals for switching.
-
These adjustments help maintain stable performance and protect against overheating.
Bad Chip Exclusion
Since version 1.09, GMiner ASIC allows excluding permanently faulty (“red”) chips from tuning.
Enter the number of non-functional chips — they’ll be skipped during tuning to improve stability.
Key Notes
-
Tuning does not stop mining — your ASIC continues hashing during adjustments.
-
Profiles are stored locally and remain after reboot.
-
Watch all tuning activity in Logs → PERF.
-
Manual profiles can be restored or cloned for other devices.
